We invite applications for a full-time permanent opportunity at St. Andrew’s College in the role of Director of Middle School.

St. Andrew’s College seeks an exceptional educator and leader to provide oversight and leadership to the Middle School for Grades 5 through 8. Working closely with the Assistant Head, Program, and Middle School Assistant Directors, the Director will champion the vision, philosophy, and goals of the day-to-day Middle School program while working collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure alignment and advancement of strategic priorities.

This role requires significant planning and coordination to ensure seamless daily operations. The Director of Middle School will provide oversight to the Grades 5-8 academic program with a focus on instructional practice and assessment as it aligns with the Growing Success criteria. The Director of Middle School will become fully immersed in the school’s daily life through teaching, coaching, and committee work. The Director will support the Admission team through involvement in the selection process and attendance at events, including Open Houses.

As a leader and role model, they will work to establish a positive rapport with all constituents of the St. Andrew’s College community using effective listening, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Externally, as a critical school ambassador, the Director of Middle School will work closely with St. Anne’s School counterparts and collaborate with the CAIS network of schools.

We seek applications from candidates with demonstrated school-wide leadership experience at the Middle School level, coupled with a solid educational foundation that includes a comprehensive understanding of the Ontario curriculum. Completion of the CAIS Leadership Institute diploma, Principal’s Qualifications 1 and 2, and a Master of Education degree are considered assets. Candidates must possess an acute awareness of the unique needs of an all-boys educational setting. Experience managing daily operations and multiple priorities, including daily scheduling, events, student success, and behaviour management, are critical functions of the role. Successful candidates understand the importance of a school-wide presence leading to meaningful relationships with faculty, students, and parents.
