Lakercrest

Lakecrest offers a world class education in a local community setting. The school has established a reputation for strong academics in a nurturing environment. With a substantial portion of its student population from the international oil industry and medical profession, Lakecrest has a rich cultural diversity as part of its identity. Mid-year transfers are welcome.

Founded in 1993, Lakecrest has been providing students with an exceptional education, a love of learning, the ability to think independently, and the confidence to reach their goals for over 20 years.

Located in the heart of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, we offer small class sizes with one-on-one attention, and a safe and nurturing environment for Kindergarten through to Grade 9. Our thorough, well-planned program is coupled with French instruction and a variety of other activities including music, art and sports. Our caring faculty and staff work with parents to form a close knit community in support of all students.

Lakecrest is accredited by CAIS, which is the preeminent organization of accredited independent schools in Canada dedicated to educational excellence, school improvement, and organizational leadership.

Our current student population is 187 students with an average class size of 17. Approximately one third of our families have come to St. John’s from different locations in the international oil industry including the United States, England, Scotland and Norway, among others. A significant portion of our students are from families hailing from parts of the globe such as India, Norway, Nigeria, United Kingdom, and Egypt, creating a rich and diverse community from which has risen a vibrant school culture with a focus on learning and international mindedness.
