About Our School
Hudson College is a vibrant and welcoming school community where students and staff are valued, engaged, and connected. Our school is located in the culturally diverse Corso Italia, near St. Clair Ave West and Du?erin Street. Our Lower School staff belong to teaching teams that align with the developmental stages of elementary students: Kindergarten, Primary (Grades 1-3), Junior (Grades 4-6) and Middle School (Grades 7-8). As a new staff member, you will be provided with a mentor teacher to assist you in your first year at Hudson College. Our rigorous and innovative programs enable our students to develop knowledge, skills, and global competencies to succeed beyond our Lower School.
About This Role
We are seeking compassionate, innovative, and qualified teachers committed to providing an exceptional learning environment for a Grade 5 position. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in instructional and assessment practices, a passion for teaching, strong classroom management skills, and a strong understanding of the Ontario curriculum. They will have opportunities to be involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that enhance students’ experiences at school.
Quali?cations
- Bachelor of Education
- Ontario College of Teachers certification
- Good knowledge of the Ontario curriculum
- Primary/Junior qualifications
- Experience teaching all core subjects, including math, language arts, science, social studies, and physical education.
- Experience in the use of technology to enhance their classroom experience is an asset.
- Minimum of two years of Elementary teaching experience
- Coaching and/or extra-curricular experience is an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum
- Demonstrated experience as an enthusiastic, innovative, and caring educator. A commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Collaborative and flexible, and supportive team-player
- Ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to educating the whole student
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into learning experiences.
- Experience using an inquiry-based and project-based learning approach in science.
- Committed to continuous professional growth and improvement
