Middle School Math & Social Science Teacher

Position: Long-Term Occasional Teacher (late November until late February)

Reporting to: Principal of the Middle School (Gr. 5- 8)

Hillfield Strathallan College (HSC) seeks a dedicated individual to join our Middle School team for a short-term contract teaching Gr. 6 Home form, Social Sciences and Math. As a key faculty member, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional educational experience while aligning with the College’s strategic priorities.

Responsibilities:

Support, deliver, and innovate dynamic educational programs for students.
Implement effective classroom management practices to create a supportive, safe, and caring learning environment.
Participate in co-curricular programs, including arts productions, athletics, and clubs aligned with social science or math programs.
Support the holistic student experience and social-emotional learning programming as a home form teacher.

Qualifications:

Minimum of three years’ teaching experience at the intermediate level in Social Sciences and/or Math.
Possession of an Ontario Teachers’ Certificate or equivalency.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for education and fostering a positive overall learning environment.
Up-to-date skills in technology and a commitment to student-centered learning.
