School Counsellor

SCHOOL COUNSELLOR – 0.4 FTE

Aspengrove School, a JK-12 International Baccalaureate School, is inviting applications from passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced counsellors to develop a counseling program starting August 2023. Aspengrove School is a place where students and staff work together to explore the opportunities of the IB curriculum, through their passions as learners and members of a strong community. Our 40-acre rural campus setting affords rich opportunities for students and teachers to engage in a meaningful journey. The successful candidate will be interested in working with a community of inspired and committed learners.

The appointed person will work collaboratively with the Director of the Student Resource Centre to define, develop, and lead our first counseling program at Aspengrove. Working with the student population in grades 6-12, the counsellor will liaise with staff and faculty, develop a referral system, work with students and families (in support of the student), and provide wellness programming as required. While this will start as a 0.4 position, we anticipate that an increase in FTE may be required in the future. Successful candidates will be provided with professional supervision/consultation along with access to the ISABC and CAIS professional communities.
