Science Teacher Junior School

Founded in 1909 by two innovative educators, Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s School (ECS) attracts and inspires students, teachers, and staff who are visionary and creative thinkers and doers. At the heart of our dynamic culture are the 310 girls from Kindergarten to Grade 11, whose energy and love of learning make working at ECS an extraordinary experience.

We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position:

  • Junior School Science teacher (K-6)
  • Contract leading to permanency

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Pre-school and Elementary Education
  • Valid Quebec Teaching Brevet
  • Ability to teach in both English and French from Kindergarten to Grade 6

ASSETS:

  • Teaching experience at the elementary level
  • Cross-curricular teaching (STEAM )
  • Understanding and implementation of the Design Thinking process
  • Ability to teach programming (Swift Playground and Scratch)
  • Strong technology abilities
  • Knowledge of robotics (EV3, in particular)

Will demonstrate a willingness to develop professionally in the following areas:

  • Planning, assessment and evaluation of learning
  • Differentiation (flexibility and adaptations)
