Trinity College School (TCS) is a leading co-educational boarding and day school for approximately 550 young people from Grades 5-12. Founded in 1865, the School places a balanced emphasis upon academics, service learning, athletics and the arts – as both a long-held TCS tradition and a thoughtful approach to 21st century education.
We are currently looking to fill the following position for September 2018
A highly competent teacher and student mentor, the preferred candidate has a university degree in English and is skilled, qualified and passionate about teaching secondary school English at all levels (Grade 9 to Advanced Placement). The ideal candidate possesses excellent skills in teaching grammar, writing, English literature, and has the ability to communicate this knowledge effectively and enthusiastically. This teacher will be conversant in both traditional and modern literary works and has a record of emphasizing critical thinking and analytical and creative writing. This teacher displays passion for a diversity of literature and dedication to the writing process, is comfortable with new classroom technologies as appropriate, is committed to professional development and will be a trusted and sought-after colleague.
All faculty members at TCS facilitate highly interactive lessons through a variety of methods designed to support critical thinking and collaboration. Our community is based upon shared values of perseverance, courage, creativity, compassion, and integrity; our talented faculty members play a pivotal role in both role-modeling and supporting the growth of these values in our students.
Successful candidates will be fully engaged in the co-curricular life of the School, including student advising, service learning, evening study supervision, coaching athletics and/or working with the performing arts. Varsity athletic experience and/or proven coaching experience is an asset. Successful candidates will be members in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers as of September 2018.
