Queen Margaret’s School is accepting applications for an innovative and progressive Director, Finance & Operations to join our school beginning July 2, 2020.

This posting has a closing date of March 6, 2020.

Reporting to the Head of School, and as a member of an innovative and purpose-driven School Leadership Team, the Director, Finance & Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership to key school wide functions and initiatives. The Director, Finance & Operations is responsible for leading the Operations Management Group, a collaborative team of managers and contractors who are charged with ensuring the optimum efficiency and quality of School’s operational and support services including but not limited to:

Financial Management

  • Human Resource Management
  • Property and Facilities Management
  • Risk Management
  • Student Boarding Program
  • Food Services
  • Health & Safety Program
  • Transportation Services
  • Information Technology
  • Revenue-generating auxiliary programs

The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated leadership in the following areas:

  • The ability to inspire, mentor and develop a collaborative high performing team through a values-driven leadership approach
  • Strategic and innovative problem solving and sound decision making in support of enhancing systems, structures, policies and practices that enable excellence, align the School’s values, purpose, and mission, and ensure the long-term strength and permanence of the School
  • Progressive experience in a broad range of functional service areas including risk management, financial management, business management, facilities management, project management, policy development, human resources, and health and safety
  • The ability to build collegial relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including staff, faculty, students, parents, and community partners, through exceptional communication skills
  • Experience working with, or supporting, a volunteer Board and Board committees

Candidates must hold:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and/or CPA and an undergraduate degree
  • Graduate level training and relevant experience will be a key differentiator in candidates
